This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.
Throughout this full 1 day of interactive class activities (remove colon) we cover in-depth the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty.
This unit meets the requirements of a ‘senior first aider’ and incorporates hands-on CPR demonstrations on both adults and infants with and without the use of a pocket mask. It also covers asthma attack management, anaphylaxis treatment and basic life support techniques.
This certificate has 3-year validity.
The unit applies to all persons (change to people) who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
Provide First Aid provides the benefits of allowing (delete – too many provides) allows those trained with the potentially life saving ability to assist an injured or ill person during a variety of emergency situations.
Knowledge in First Aid benefits the individuals themselves regardless of whether an emergency affects them directly or involves people they live and work with.
While everyone can benefit from First Aid knowledge and training it is an even greater benefit to those working or living with individuals who require ongoing special attention or treatment.

This one day course runs from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.
There is a pre-course online component that MUST be completed 48hours prior to your course start date. If this is not completed, you will not be accepted on the day of your training. It will take approximately 3-4 hours to complete.
You will receive a separate email with a link and log in details to complete your online pre-course work. If you do not receive this email, please check junk mail folders.
You must attend the face-to-face training in order to successfully complete your course.
You will be assessed with a combination of online questions and practical demonstrations.
On successful completion of this course and the assessments you will receive a Statement of Attainment in HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
