Face-to-Face and Assessment

Course Overview

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to extract and serve espresso coffee beverages using commercial espresso machines and grinders. It requires the ability to advise customers on coffee beverages, select and grind coffee beans, prepare and assess espresso coffee beverages and to use, maintain and clean espresso machines and grinders.

Benefits

In undertaking this course you will learn the benefits of preparing and presenting espresso-based coffee beverages, monitor quality indicators for extraction, present espresso beverages and accompaniments demonstrating consistency and quality and using the correct equipment, ingredients and measurements to prepare espresso coffee beverages.

SITXFSA001 Use hygienic practices for food safety

Entry Requirements

  • must be 14 years of age and
  • have 100 points of (identification)
  • attend all face to face training

  • Flat White
  • Long Black
  • Piccolo Latte
  • Mocha
  • Ristretto
  • Short and Long Macchiato

Accreditation & Award

On successful completion of this course, you will be eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment for the unit SITHFAB005 Prepare and serve espresso coffee.
