• Follow precautions for prevention and control of infection in the workplace and increase your awareness of responsibility towards identifying infectious hazards.
• Describe the skills and knowledge required for a worker to participate in safe work practices, to ensure their own health and safety.
• Determine the clients support needs, provide support to the client, monitor support activities and report and complete documentation.

This course will provide foundation knowledge and practical skills to allow you to:

• Deliver service for the needs of individuals dealing with life-threatening or or life limiting illness and the emotional impact of diagnosis.
• Interpret individualised plans and familiarise self with specific needs and wants of people living with dementia, organise activities to maintain independence.
• Focus on maintaining the safety of the worker, the people being supported and other community and workplace members in both centre-based and home-based environments.
