Introduction to Mental Health

Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)

This course specifies the outcomes required to undertake Work Health and Safety (WHS) induction training within the Construction Industry.
Students will learn to;
- Identify health and safety legislative requirements of construction work
- Identify construction hazards and risk control measures
- Identify health and safety communication and reporting processes
- Identify incident and emergency response procedures.
This training is a one (1) day course including Safework NSW assessment.

Students will need to;
- Wear appropriate PPE including closed in non-slip shoes and appropriate clothing
- Bring 100 points of current original identification including at least one being a driver's licence, proof of age card or passport identification

Provide First Aid

HLTAID011

In this training you will learn the skills and knowledge required to successfully provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. 
This 
unit applies to persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations.
You will learn to;
- Respond to an emergency situation.
- Perform CPR.
- Apply appropriate first aid procedures.
- Identify and use correct PPE.
- Communicate details of the incident.
- Review the incident.


It is a requirement of this unit that all students are to perform a minimum of two (2) minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin placed on the floor.
This is a mandatory requirement and there are no exceptions that can be made.

Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults in line with first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.

This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

You will learn to;
Recognise and assess an emergency situation
- Recognise and assess an emergency situation.
- Perform CPR.
- Apply appropriate first aid procedures.
- Identify and use correct PPE.
- Communicate details of the incident.
Report details of incidents involving infants and children to parents or caregivers
- Review the incident.

Provide Responsible Gambling Services

SITHGAM001

This course is will give you the skills and knowledge to provide responsible gambling services and to assist any customers who may have issues with problem gambling.
Upon successful completion students will receive an interim certificate. This certificate is valid for 90 days and allows you to work immediately.

Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol

SITHFAB002

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to responsibly sell and serve alcohol.

Tech Savvy For Seniors Beginners

TSSBEG

This program is designed for beginners.
Tech Savvy Seniors is fully funded digital literacy training for seniors over 55 years or 50 years if your Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander.
Seniors will develop the skills and confidence to access information and services online. The program provides training in computers, tablets, smart phones, internet safety and more to help seniors to stay connected with their families, friends and communities.
Bring your own device for face-to-face assistance from our fully trained and experienced trainer. A laptop computer can be provided if needed.

This program is an initiative of the NSW Ageing Strategy and is funded through a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra.

Traffic Control

TRACTL

The Traffic Control Work Training Traffic Controller and Traffic Management Implementer Course are the two most common courses students complete to gain employment in the Traffic Management industry.
South Coast Community College delivers this training as a Combo Course over three (3) days, including a Live Site practical assessment.


After your training is successfully completed, you will be issued with a SafeWork NSW Statement of Completion (SOC).
Upon successful completion of a Live assessment, you will be issued with a licence from SafeWork NSW.

Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety

SITXFSA001

This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to use personal hygiene practices to prevent contamination of food that might cause food-borne illnesses.
You will learn how to;
- follow predetermined organisational procedures and to identify and control food hazards
- report unsafe practices that breach hygiene procedures promptly
- identify food hazards that may affect the health and safety of customers, colleagues and self.
- remove or minimise the hygiene hazard and report as appropriate for follow-up.
- prevent food contamination.
- maintain clean clothes, wear required personal protective clothing, and only use organisation-approved bandages and dressings.
- ensure hygienic personal contact with food and food contact surfaces.
- use hygienic cleaning practices that prevent food-borne illnesses.
- correct hand washing techniques
